Not a celebrity or a politician or a person who found real fame and fortune after meeting the famed talk show host. Oprah Winfrey's all-time favorite guest is a woman, not an average one by any means, but one who, as Oprah puts it "encapsulates the essence of every lesson we?ve shared over the past 25 years."
On Friday's show, the last Friday show ever for Oprah, she revealed that her favorite guest of all time was Dr. Tererai Trent. A Zimbabwean woman who was denied an education all her life, was married at 11, had three children by 18, and whose husband beat her every day. It was her dream to leave her life behind, move to America for an education and earn a PhD. By the time she first appeared on Oprah two years ago, she had accomplished all those things.
As Dr. Trent and Big O regaled about their time together and Dr. Trent's harrowing life story, she revealed to O that her new dream is to build a school in her home of Zimbabwe, so other children could be privy to an education she wasn't. That's when Oprah had her look under her seat (Read more...)
