Tracy Morgan filmed an anti-bullying PSA months before he made a homophobic rant.
Tracy Morgan's past has come back to haunt him.
Morgan, who apologized Friday for the homophobic comments he made during a recent comedy routine, filmed an anti-bullying PSA this past November.
In the PSA, posted by PerezHilton.com, the "30 Rock" actor said he wants people "to be kind to one another."
"Picking on someone because they are different doesn't make you a tough guy, it makes you a bully," he continued. "If you know someone that's being teased, talk to them."
It seems Morgan should have taken his own words to heart during his appearance in Nashville earlier this month.
The comedian, 42, made many homophobic remarks during his routine, including that he would stab his son to death if he were gay and that gay people should stop "whining" about being bullied.
Morgan has since spoken to GLAAD, which objected to his comments, and admitted he knows "how bad bullying can hurt."
"I was bullied when I was a kid," he said, adding that he never wants "to use my comedy to hurt anyone."
"Gay people deserve the same right to be happy in this country as everyone else," he insisted. "Our laws should support that."
Morgan's original comments went viral after audience member Kevin Rogers wrote a post on Facebook objecting to the comedy routine.
But the Nashville resident approved of Morgan's apology and said the comedian shouldn't lose his job over the controversy, according to RadarOnline.com.
"I hold no ill will towards him and hope that only going forward he shows a little bit more restraint," Rogers told the site.
Morgan plans to return to Nashville to meet with those who were offended by his words, but Rogers said he didn't know any of the specifics.
The comedian will reportedly also make a public statement about supporting the LGBT community and shoot a PSA as part of one of GLAAD's future campaigns.
