“The A List” slammed in NYT article

greginhollywood.com

You could tell that the piece this week in The New York Times about Logo’s The A-Listwas not going to be kind from the headline alone: The A List? They Must Be Grading on a Curve.
Ouch!
The show, which just had its second season premiere, and its cast clearly do not impress writerJeremy M. Peters who he described as “drinking, fighting and swanning around New York.”
He also writes: These people make the Real Housewives, an acknowledged inspiration for the Logo show, look like the graduating class of a fine Swiss finishing school.
Reichen Lehmkuhl
Reichen Lehmkuhl doesn’t come off well at the end of the piece:
Mr. Lehmkuhl said he took A-list to mean accomplishment. And in his case, the accomplishment is a new profession, which he described as “promoting my brand called Reichen.”
True to the reality-star entrepreneurial spirit, first on display when he and his then-partner won the fourth season of “The Amazing Race,” that brand now encompasses a book, a jewelry line and a new fragrance. (His acting career seems to have stalled since his tearful, abrupt departure from the Off Broadway play “My Big Gay Italian Wedding,” one of the plot points in the show’s first season.)
He acknowledged that some people scoff at the idea that he considers himself A-list material. But he seems determined to act the part anyway. As he was talking, a young admirer approached him. “I’m sorry, no,” Mr. Lehmkuhl said, cutting him off. “I’m having an interview with The New York Times. Can you just leave me alone?”

Sharon Stone ordered to pay $232K to man claiming he was injured on her property - "Basic Instinct"

Sharon Stone was ordered to pay $232,000 to a man who claims he fell 15 ft. into a ravine on the actress' Los Angeles property, reports Radar Online.

The entertainment website reports that a man name Peter Krause claimed that he fell into a ravine while working on the "Basic Instinct" star's property and suffered major injuries in the fall.

Krause says he was installing outdoor wiring on Stone's property in 2008, when he fell down a "large concealed drop-off" into a fence that didn't support his weight and plunged him into a neighbor's property, reports Radar.

The jury reportedly found Stone negligent because her fence wasn't up to code or strong enough to prevent the fall.

Krause reportedly claims he has been unable to work since this incident. Read More

Basic Instinct 2 - Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction German/British/American/Spanish Thriller Film

Basic Instinct 2, also known as Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction, is a 2006 German/British/American/Spanish thriller film and the sequel to 1992's Basic Instinct. The film was directed by Michael Caton-Jones and produced by Mario Kassar, Joel B. Michaels, and Andrew G. Vajna. The screenplay was by Leora Barish and Henry Bean. It stars Sharon Stone, who reprises her role of Catherine Tramell from the original, as well as David Morrissey and David Thewlis.

The film follows novelist and suspected serial killer Catherine Tramell, who is once again in trouble with the authorities. Scotland Yard appoints psychiatrist Dr. Michael Glass to evaluate her after a man in Tramell's presence dies. As with Detective Nick Curran in the first film, Glass becomes a victim of Tramell's seductive games.

After being in development hell for a number of years, the film was shot in London from April to August 2005, and was released on March 31, 2006. After numerous cuts, it was released with an R rating for "strong sexuality, nudity, violence, language, and some drug content." The film was not as well received as its predecessor and fell short of commercial expectations. Compared to its predecessor, Basic Instinct 2 is lighter in nature, but still contains graphic violence and sex.

Lee Bo Young, Ji Sung, Av Actress, Shiori Kamasaki, 神咲詩織, 시오리 카미사키 - Actor Ji Sung shares a few love stories about girlfriend Lee Bo Young

On the August 1st episode of SBS’s ‘Healing Camp‘, actor Ji Sung decided to share some cute stories from his 4-year relationship with actress Lee Bo Young.

During the show, a person commented that Ji Sung seemed like someone who would act cute and charming towards his girlfriend. He confessed, “Actually that’s true. When she is unhappy about something, I will try to act cute by doing things like puffing up my cheeks to cheer her up“.

He continued, “I also sing her songs before she goes to bed“, and sweetly sang the popular song “It’s Fortunate” by Lee Juk on the spot, causing an envious reaction from female MC Han Hye Jin.

Ji Sung also talked about the fireworks event he once threw for his girlfriend, saying, “On my girlfriend’s birthday, I wanted to throw her a fireworks show that she could watch from her balcony. I went ahead with the plan even though I knew that the neighbors would complain if it occurred too late at night. My manager and I prepared fifty firecrackers in front of her home and lit them. My girlfriend expressed that what touched her more than the event itself was the scene of my manager and I running away in case the police came.”

The happy couple first started dating in 2007 after meeting on the set of SBS’s drama, ‘Save the Last Dance for Me‘, and have been in a relationship for the past four years.

Meanwhile, Ji Sung is currently busy filming for the upcoming SBS drama, ‘Protect the Boss‘. Read More

Looks Like a Remake with Adam Sandler's 'Gay' 3 Men & a Baby

Author: Josh Tyler

Adam Sandler Doing A Gay, Polyamorous Three Men And A Baby Remake? image
Adam Sandler may often be thought of as the king of movies for idiots, but every now and then he does something kind of edgy in his own uniquely Sandler way. This could turn in to one of those times since, word is he may be making a movie about gay polyamory.

This exploration of multiple-partner lifestyles would come in the form of a Three Men and a Baby remake, according to a rumor posted by Movieweb. The original 1987 film was directed, rather well, by none other than Star Trek’s Leonard Nimoy. It starred Ted Danson, Tom Selleck, and Steve Guttenberg at the height of their powers, as three decidedly straight male roommates forced to take care of and eventually raise a baby. All Guttenberg-based kidding aside, it’s a pretty great movie, and one that made enough money to spawn a sequel in 3 Men and a Little Lady. In fact there’s long been talk of making a third entry in the series, 3 Men and a Bride, but in Hollywood’s climate of redo why bother continuing the story when you can simply repeat it.

Except, well, Adam Sandler’s notion of repeating it comes with that strange Chuck & Larry style twist. This time the three men would be gay lovers played by David Spade, Chris Rock, and Rob Schneider. If the rumors are to be believed, Sandler wouldn’t actually star in the movie, more likely just a cameo, but he’d produce it through his Happy Madison production company.

The press is sure to start making cracks at Sandler’s expense as a response to pretty much anything he does, let alone a gay polyamorous remake of a Steve Guttenberg movie, but here’s what I know about polyamory: America isn’t ready to accept it. Think people have a hard time accepting gay marriage? Polyamory is even further away from any sort of legitimate acceptance. Gay polyamory? Might as well make them atheists too, while you’re at it Adam. Except, well, Sandler has a way of making this stuff completely palatable to even the most uptight asshole. Maybe I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry wasn’t exactly a paragon of gay pride, but people who’d never have been caught dead seeing something likeBrokeback Mountain showed up to see it in droves and sympathized with lifestyles different from their own, for an hour or so. Baby steps. Maybe Sandler can do the same thing for polyamory, or better yet for the notion of getting people to shut up and let others do whatever they want, as long as it isn’t hurting anyone else.

For now this is all wild rumor. Movieweb’s claim that the idea for the film was spawned from an episode of MTV’s Real Life makes the whole thing even harder to believe. It is kind of easy, though, to imagine David Spade, Chris Rock, and Rob Schneider all hanging around with Sandler hammering out some sort of bizarre script, as they claim may be happening at any moment.

J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter site Pottermore announced Magical Quill challenge
The homepage of Pottermore has been updated to announce a Magical Quill challenge. As most Potter fans know, the Magical Quill at Hogwarts senses when a magical child is born and notes that child's name to become a future student at the wizarding school when they turn 11 years old.

The Magical Quill challenge will ask questions from each of the seven books over the course of seven days, starting tomorrow, July 31 – Harry Potter’s birthday. Those able to answer the question will add the answer to the end of the quill.pottermore.com URL, which will then lead them to a website. Once they find the Magical Quill on the website, it will take them back to Pottermore where they can register for early access to the Beta site. Those unable to register in time tomorrow will get another chance to answer another question the next day (and the next…) until the last question is posted on August 6, so don’t give up!

The following was posted on Pottermore’s blog which gives more details about the Magical Quill challenge:
The eagle-eyed amongst you may have spotted the hidden link in our You ask, we answer’ blog post from 19 July, which took you to an interview J.K. Rowling gave in 2000.

In the interview was some interesting information about a Magical Quill, located in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The Magical Quill detects the birth of a magical child and writes their name down in a large book. Every year, Professor McGonagall checks the book and sends owls to the children who are turning eleven, to inform them that they have a place at Hogwarts.

Each day for seven days, from 31 July to 6 August, we will be placing a clue on the Pottermore homepage to help you locate The Magical Quill. If you find it, you’ll have the chance to gain early access to Pottermore.

There will be a new clue every day, and each clue will relate to a different book in the Harry Potter series. On Day 1 the clue will relate to Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, on Day 2 the clue will relate to Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and so forth. The clues will also vary in difficulty. On Days 1-3 the clues will be harder, and on Days 4-7 the clues will be easier.

To find The Magical Quill, you need to solve the clue and add the answer to the end of the web address quill.pottermore.com/ This will lead you to a website where The Magical Quill will be located while early access places are available. A Gay, Lesbian & Bisexual “True Blood” Post

K-STEW LOOKING SHARP AT COMIC-CON
There’s been a ton of buzz around True Blood for the last week because in addition to being the best show on television, nearly the entire cast visited Comic-Con in San Diego last weekend. Before I continue talking aboutTrue Blood, which was amazing last night, last week, and the week before that, let me ask you this — do you know what Comic-Con is? If so, skip the next 2 paragraphs. If not, read on.
I didn’t know what it was until I started this here website, so if over the last week or so you’ve been hearing a bit of chatter about this or that person relevant to your interests/pants saying/doing something neat/important at an event called “Comic-Con” and don’t know what it is, I’ll tell you: Comic-Con International is a four-day conference held annually in San Diego, founded as the “San Diego Comic Book Convention” in 1970. Originally, Comic-Con showcased (yes this is a link to Wikipedia)  ”comic books, science fiction/fantasy and film/television and related popular arts” but has since expanded to include “a larger range of pop culture elements, such as horror, animation, anime, manga, toys, collectible card games, video games, webcomics, and fantasy novels.”

DR.WHO PANEL AT COMIC-CON
Events a fan might find at Comic-Con include panels, seminars, workshops, upcoming movie previews, “screening rooms devoted to Japanese animation,” awards ceremonies, costume contests and various screenings as well as an exhibition hall for movie studios, comic book dealers and so forth. There tends to be an undue emphasis on the cast of Twilight, regardless of whether or not a relevant Twilight film is happening any time soon. We’ve already shared with you the Glee revelations from Comic-Con, though honestly I don’t know why Glee was at Comic-Con.
Anyhow! Onto True Blood!

KRISTIN & ALEXANDER AT COMIC-CON
At Comic-Con, the cast were given multiple opportunities to field questions and subsequently answer these questions, often on videotape. In addition to sharing selections from some of these interviews, I will also share with you an “extended trailer” for Season Four, which contains spoilers I suppose, and the cast’s “It Gets Better” videos. I will share the extended trailer right now, and the “It Gets Better” videos (which are a tad strange) at the end of the post.

Firstly, you can watch the entire panel on YouTube, it’s in five sections.  Speaking of videos, Entertainment Weekly interviewed the cast of True Blood and Eric and Pam are super-cute.
But let’s get down to the heart of the matter, and by “heart” I mean “vadge.” Let’s start out with Michael Ausiello, Master of Spoilers, discussing Tara’s sexuality with Rutina Wesley in a videotaped interview (partially transcribed for you by me right now):
Michael Ausiello: Lesbian, bisexual, going through a phase?
Rutina: Going through a phase!? Lemme tell you what I think. This is what I think. My backstory is — this has not necessarily been talked about — I think it’s one of those things that just sort of happened. I think she maybe met her [Tara's girlfriend], didn’t realize she was being hit on, next thing you knew, things happen and she was like “Hm. Interesting. I kinda liked that”… I think she wanted to spend more time with her and then that sorta led to a relationship. I really do think there’s a love there, and I really do think it is a relationship. I would say she’s bisexual, but I don’t think it’s a phase, because I think she really is into this woman. And I know people who like, there’s been one woman that they’ve been into and then, that’s it. But she’s definitely attracted to her but I don’t think she saw it coming, I think she kinda got sideswept.
Because I know a lot of people are like, I’ve never seen her like women, you know this is like all of a sudden and bla bla… I mean, yeah, [Tara] was sort of was taken for a ride and I think that that’s okay, and I ultimately like it because she’s happy and she’s smiling… it’s nice to see her happy and it’s nice to see her with someone who I think really likes her too for who she is.”
Michael Ausiello: How did Alan Ball explain to you that this was gonna be your storyline? Did he call you to say, “Guess what, you’re a lesbian on the show now?”
Rutina: ”I had a lot of little birds tell me things very early on and I was like, fine whatever. I was totally fine with it I mean, I’m an actor. And it’s True Blood. We signed up for a show that was very racy and you have to expect stuff like that. We take off our clothes, we run around naked… we’re having orgies in the middle of the forest! I was a little like OKAY, but I also was like “Is she gonna be happy? Is she gonna be duct taped to a toilet? No? Okay, cool. Fine.”
At E! Online, some follow-up questions regarding my number-one desire for this program:
We loved one idea pitched at last weekend’s panel for the HBO hit: Hook up Pam and Tara, now that T’s ditched dudes for cage-fighting cuties and all.
In fact, we totally can’t believe we didn’t think of it first.
“Wouldn’t that be fun?” Kristin gushed when we asked if she approved of the pairing.
“I would love to work with [Rutina Wesley]. You never know what these guys are going to write. We hear all sorts of different things, and the cast, we cook up stuff we’d like to see, but it would be pretty interesting because they hate each other at the moment. So how these writers would ever manage that, I don’t know. But it’d be fun to see.”
Well if they managed to get Sookie to smooch on sexy (but sometimes über-evil) Eric Northman, we’re sure they could find a way for Pammy and Tara to hit the sack.
