Detik-detik masuknya para pendukung Mubarak menerobos barikade para demonstran

Nigerian Cat Woman

Aisha Ibrahim was involved in an auto-accident in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.,but case particularly attracted the media attention because an unusual occurrence was attributed to her. Eyewitnesses said she was hit by a car as a cat, but later transformed into a woman. As the story goes three cats were crossing the busy road when an okada (motorcycle taxi) ran over. One of them immediately turned into a woman. This strange occurrence quickly attracted people around who descended on the scene. A crowd soon gathered, accused her of being a witch and began to beat her up using whatever he came with or could lay his hands on right there. Finally, policemen arrived a the spot and fenced her away from the attackers wanted her dead.

However, another witness gave a completely different account of the incident. He said “I saw the accident as it happened, I saw the car hitting a woman. I didn’t see any cat and it was surprising when everybody said she was a cat and started beating her up instead of helping her.”

Women journalists stripped and paraded naked in Sierra Leone

The International Federation of Journalists (IFJ) today strongly condemned the humiliating and degrading treatment suffered by four women journalists who were stripped naked in public in Kenema, Eastern Sierra Leone where they were covering events to mark the International Day against female circumcision.

"We condemn this serious assault and violation of the right to dignity which can have traumatic effects," said Gabriel Baglo, Director of the IFJ Africa Office. "We expect the authorities to apply the full force of the law to the perpetrators and to eradicate the lawlessness that has led to numerous incidents of violence against journalists over the recent months."

According to reports from Sierra Leone, the four female journalists were "attacked and abducted by the supporters" of a Pro Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) group who stripped them naked and forced them to march through the streets of Kenema on Monday, February 9, 2009. They were only freed after the intervention of the police and human rights organizations.

All four journalists were on assignment in Kenema as part of the International Day of zero tolerance to Female Circumcision. They were accused by their aggressors of reporting against female circumcision which is considered an insult to their culture.

The IFJ expressed its solidarity with the victims and supported the call by the Sierra Leone Journalists Association (SLAJ), IFJ affiliate, for the government of Sierra Leone to take appropriate measures in order to curb these acts of barbarism and discrimination against female journalists.

Hundreds of naked women arrested...

Some 600 liberian refugees who have refused to stop their protests have been arrested by the Ghana police. They are demanding to be resettled in the United States as well as an amount of US$1000 instead of US$100 from the UN refugee agency HCR.
"$100 is not anything you can start life with. We are all lost," said a liberian refugee.
Hundreds of women held naked roadside protests on Monday to express their unwillingness to integrate into the Ghanaian society.
The police rounded up the protesters before sending them to a vocational centre about 50 kilometres away from the capital in ten buses, according to witnesses. Interior Minister Kwamena Bartels denied it was forced repatriation.
"When women strip themselves naked and stand by a major highway, that is not a peaceful demonstration," Mr.. Bartels said in an interview with BBC.
Last week, the Ghanaian government asked the Liberian refugees to abide by the laws of the country by channeling their grievances through appropriate relevant authorities for redress.
Kwamena Bartels said in a statement that they should not overstretch the goodwill and protection the government and people of Ghana has accorded them over the past 18 years, also stating that the demonstration is in breach of the Public Order Act of 1994  and urged them to comport themselves.
Some protesters forced the closure of all the schools on the refugee camp while blocking the distribution of aid materials to children, sick people and older persons.
Some 27,000 Liberians are in Ghana after years of conflict at home.

Men watch as naked Imbali bath....(Naked Swaziland Girls)

image
LOBAMBA – More  than 20 men could not resist watching the girls attending the annual Reed Dance ceremony as the maidens bathed in a river near the Mantenga Village.
Most of the girls were naked.
They seemed to enjoy the attention they were getting from the excited men..
The maidens also seemed to enjoy themselves as this was the only day they had to relax before the big day tomorrow.
More than 200 maidens were found bathing in the river while about 20 men gave themselves time to have a good look.
While watching, the men would occasionally pass remarks among themselves and point at some of the girls.
Velabahleke Malaza of Lozitha said watching the girls had become a pastime for him..
He said he had been doing this for the past two years and enjoyed watching them as they bathed.
“Whenever they are given a day off, we definitely know that we will find them here. We have never at any point in time caused trouble and I know they also feel safe when they see us here,” he said.
He said even the police officers had no problem seeing men watching the maidens as they knew that they do not cause any harm.
“From time to time, the police patrol this place and find us here. They have never questioned us and I think this is because they know that watching the maidens bathing was now a hobby for some of us,” he said.    Today, the Imbali regiment of maidens is expected to deliver the reed and thereafter proceed to the dancing arena where they are expected to dance before their Majesties. There will be more dancing tomorrow.  Also expected to attend are delegates who are currently in the country attending the ongoing COMESA Summit.

Woman Stripped Naked in Ghana

L/C Khan and Inspector Nyame stormed her house with six well-built armed policemen to arrest Blackee
L/C Khan and Inspector Nyame stormed her house with six well-built armed policemen to arrest Blackee

After being allegedly assaulted by six armed policemen at her residence at Yawhima Shooting Range, near Sunyani on Sunday night, Cynthia Gahe, aka Sister Akos is in severe pain.

Eye-witnesses say Sister Akos was rendered naked after the dress she was wearing was torn by the irate policemen who stormed her house to arrest her brother, one Kwadwo aka Blackee, for threatening a police officer who stays in the neighbourhood.

The poor woman, according to residents, was given some slaps which landed her on the floor, and was dragged on the floor by the policemen who assaulted her for allegedly obstructing her brother's arrest.

Residents who attempted to rescue the defenseless lady from the hands of the policemen also had their fair share of the brutality.
Asiedu Richard told Daily Guide that his right eye, which was red at the time of the paper's visit to the house on Monday evening, was nearly gouged out by the police when he attempted to save the woman.

Kwadwo Manu, a victim who described the incident as a "very terrible situation", said he was slapped by one of the officers when he came upon the incident and decided to enquire about it.

The disturbing part of the incident, residents said, was that Sister Akos was detained at the police station overnight after the husband, Luis Gahe, had gone there to lodge an official complaint with the police.

Mr. Gahe said his wife, who looked too frail, collapsed immediately after she was released the next morning, Monday, and was rushed to the emergency unit of the Sunyani Regional Hospital. She has since been treated and discharged.

Meanwhile, the police have denied any wrongdoing. The Sunyani Municipal Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Charles Botwe, told DAILY GUIDE that the woman in question tried to obstruct the arrest of her brother who was believed to be hiding in her room at the time the police got to the house, he said even though investigations are still underway, he can confirm that nobody, including the woman, was assaulted during the incident.

He explained that one Inspector E.K Nyame of the regional Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU) lodged a complaint with the police on Sunday morning that Blackee had threatened him after unlawfully entering his house..

The police chief said later in the evening, Inspector Nyame
called in the Mobile Patrol Unit when he felt insecure because of Blackee's threatening words.

When Sister Akos heard that the police were looking for her brother, she hurled all manner of insults on Inspector Nyame.

Chief Supt Botwe said the woman rather obstructed justice when she prevented the officers from entering the room to arrest her brother and even went to the extent of picking a coal pot and a pistil to hit the police.

He indicated that the woman will be processed for court, whilst the police hunt for Blackee. He has also challenged all the eye-witnesses to come forward to expose the police officers who assaulted the woman.

Family members however told DAILY GUIDE that one Lance Corporal (L/C) Khan, who is building a house in the neighbourhood, has been engaging Blackee for construction works on the building. Sources said payments have not beenprompt.

Reports said Blackee went to L/C Khan's house, where Inspector Nyame also lives, on Sunday evening to collect his money for the service he rendered in the morning, but it led to a confrontation.

When Sister Akos was informed, she went there to calm her brother down and she was hit by Mr. Khan's son. which resulted in the trading of insults.

According to residents, when Sister Akos was pounding fufu later in the evening, L/C Khan and Inspector Nyame stormed her house with six well-built armed policemen to arrest Blackee. At the time, Blackee was not at home.

Sister Akos told Daily Guide that she demanded an arrest warrant from the police but they tried forcing their way into her room to fish out her brother.

She was brutally assaulted in the process..
