Obama: Cut defense spending before food stamps

As I have said many times in this blog, and opposite of what liberals say, the tea party and conservatism are not 'anti-tax.' We are for limited taxation for a limited government as per the US Constitution. We do not gripe about funding the military because protection of the people is a legitimate function of government. Or on the local level funding police, firefighters and EMT because those are protections of the people and that is a legitimate function of government. But taking money from people to simply cut checks to other people is NOT a legitimate function of government and is stealing. Politicians that prioritize the latter are thieves:

President Obama has taken some heat from Democrats--and particularly progressive Democrats--for his willingness to alter entitlement programs to reduce the deficit. But in an interview with NPR airing on Thursday and Friday, the president sought to reassure his base of his commitment to his party’s ideals.

“I think what's absolutely true is that core commitments that we make to the most vulnerable have to be maintained,” Obama said. “A lot of the spending cuts that we're making should be around areas like defense spending as opposed to food stamps.” 

"The most vulnerable?" Those would be the unborn, and Obama wants them killed. He voted for times as an Illinois Senator for outright infanticide - murder of the baby after he or she was born. Just so you know what the term vulnerable means to him.

"Van Hollen without saying so, pretty much confirms Ryan's suspicions of no specific cuts... the untouchables ... well except for one thing. Can you guess where Democrats want to cut big?"

The primary function of government is protection of the people. The Democratic Party has abdicated that one responsibility and legitimate function of government to simply cut checks to other people, which is not a legitimate function.

The VFW District 4, American Legion Post 586, National Memorial Ladies Join Lawsuit Against VA and Director of Houston National Cemetery for Religious Hostility

Amongst the complaints are these:

• VA Forbids Mention of God at Funerals for Veterans and Requires Families to Submit Prayer for Approval to the Government
• Government officials told burial teams that prayer and religious speech could no longer be included in the burial ritual unless the family submits a specific prayer or message in writing to Director Ocasio for her approval.
• VA instructs the VFW and a Private Funeral Home that they may not present the option of prayer to families.
• VA Tells Volunteers to Remove "God Bless" from Condolence Cards to Grieving Families.
• VA Closes Cemetery Chapel; Uses it for Storage: The chapel where families used to gather, pray and reflect has been closed and is now called a "meeting facility" and used for storage. The chapel cross and Bible have been removed and the bells that once used to chime are no longer used.

Your taxpayer dollars, hard at work sticking a finger in The Creator's eye. The real shame is that if the general population truly believed in God as per the above poll that I mentioned, they would vote that way, and there would only be 1 Democrat for every 9conservatives. So a good chunk of these people have crafted themselves a golden calf instead, and we are reaping the bad seeds sown in places like public ed. A history lesson is needed here:
